Ok so I have been looking to get a web development job lately and I have noticed that a lot of them want you to have experience with Joomla.

I am just curious is there a way I can download this and mess with it offline, just to get an idea of what it is and how it works?

To test at your local end, you need to have a cross-platform web server like (XAMPP or WAMPP.
