How is your site different from the currently popular geek/nerd hangouts (and the not-so-popular ones, for that matter)?

Quite simply, nerdwired is not restricted to only online development, technology and programming. The forum encompasses a broader spectrum of discussions such as poltical debates, for example the welfare state, corporate structures and the American elections. As well as discussions about the latest films, television and music.

The word nerd, doesn't only refer to online developers it encompasses all intellectual people - and nerdwired is the perfect hub for discussions between such people.

For a young site, you seem to be doing great on the community aspect so congrats for that. If my non-geek nerd comes out more, I'll be sure to check in with you. (You misspelled and mis-capitalized JavaScript; see this related discussion.)

For some of your less volatile content, you may wish to use wikis similarly to Answers.com. We are already building a JavaScript Tutorial and would gladly exchange links.

To clarify, I was actually talking about http://www.nerdbase.net/ - but wired has the small 's' as well.
