    Exclamation Looking for Beta Testers

Ok, for those of you who don't already know... I'm currently partnering with a software development company. They are writing a program which will allow users with little to no html/css knowledge to implement gorgeous css based navigation systems with a few clicks of the mouse. The structure will be completely valid, as will the css.

However, one thing to keep in mind is the fact that if the user hand codes anything into or deletes anything from the generated code, well... we obviously can't guarantee the validity of structure/css.

Now, MY job in this partnership is to write the structure (html) and style (css) for each menu design into a "template" if you will. This template will be the base for all new menu designs the user generates. The user will have the ability to hand code if they choose. The program will also allow for advanced scripting capabilities in the future. We are looking to integrate either prototype/mootools or jQuery to allow for transitional effects and/or even including dynamic content via AJAX.

    What we're looking for...
We're looking for "a few good men" (and/or women) who would be willing to beta test the software for us once the development is stable enough to release a beta version. Each beta tester will be given a fully functional NFRS license to the software.

As of right now, we do not have the beta release ready... However, we have literally thousands of menu designs/styles which we are not releasing publicly yet. We would like to "test" these designs on our beta testers to get a feel for what the average user would like/dislike in a menu design. I am in the process of coding each individual design, but as you can imagine... thousands of css menus will take quite some time to code. So, what you would be looking at to start with is simply jpg or png images of each design and leaving feedback/critique to let us know what can be improved, what you like, what you dislike, what's missing, etc...

Ok, so here are the requirements...

    1. Very knowledgeable in CSS
    2. Very knowledgeable in HTML 4.01 Strict
    3. Has an understanding of what "beta testing" is all about
    4. Honesty, but not rudeness
    5. Currently only Windows XP/Vista is supported (MAC to come soon)
    6. Must be "Regular Coder" or above
    7. Must agree that license to software is a "NFRS" license only (Not For ReSale)

If interested, please PM me for more details.

    Thanks!
    Josh

EDIT: I've added more descriptive information about what I'm looking for, please read above.

Well, honestly it's a personal thing. It has a little to do with "integrity" issues, as well as the fact that I'd like to KNOW that the person I simply hand over a license to, as well as access to ALL of the menu designs is someone who has been around at least for a little while, and is less likely to just up and disappear.

I guess what i'm saying is that I want the security of knowing that I'm not handing over this stuff to someone who may possibly take it to attempt to duplicate it (either the software or the menu designs themselves). Something like this would wreak havoc on the ability to actually CHARGE for the program, since the person could easily distribute the designs/source code as freeware.

Still need about 10 more people who would be willing to beta test the software if anyone else is interested.

I'm interested but as you can see I'm still a junior, what does it take to become a regular on this site? Enough thanks or enough posts or what?

Edit: OK I just found the rules, I guess I need more posts..

hmm... This looks like it could be fun. You said that as of now you only have images of the menus? So once you have some functional menus are you going to be looking for feedback on code or is it just going to be a feedback on design the whole way through?

I would be willing to help you out with this though, so just drop me a line if you still need some more people.
What is obvious to you might not be to another.
