Newbies and many experienced programmers want references that demonstrate how to code in a simple, hands-on way. Some particularly experienced programmers here disdain popular references because of omissions and inaccuracies; they point instead to the standards and official documentation. I count myself among the first group and agree with the second. Can they be pleased by the same reference?
I think wikis are very well suited for this purpose. They can use simple language and code examples, and reference the definitive sources. And if someone finds any of these lacking, they can fix it. Some wikis relevant to these forums are listed below; please add any not listed (whether they use MediaWiki or not).
