Need tabs and dependent tabs

Greetings experts,

I know this is probably asking for too much but I have 3 issues.

1, I need to have 8 tabs with folder icons at the top of a page like this example below:

____ ____ ____ ____ ____ ____ _____ _____

If I click on each tab, that tab can have one or more pages associated with it and the tab that is clicked is higlihted with some color and this tab stays highlited until another tab is created.

Can someone please give me an example of this?
