Default Web-standards, best-practices and overall site validation?

    Hello!

As this is my first real CSS project, I am looking for ways to find out whether I am actually doing things "right" and efficiently in my CSS and HTML design.

So far, it looks good on the web itself, the functions I am using work real nice and everything seems good.

However, as I am no expert in neither CSS, HTML or JavaScript, I need help with someone who could perhaps tell me if there are things that I should do differently, or maybe correct some errors that I have done.

I am going to run my current test-page through various validations at w3.org, but how do I find out what best-practices there are regarding my usage of CSS and such?

My way of learning is simple; I look at something, and replicate it. Trial and error has always been my way, since I am autodidact.

Unfortunately, this also means that there are many things that I don't even know what means, I just know how they work. Does that make sense?

Perhaps there is a nice person around here that could take a look at my site, and check on the code formatting, and maybe give me ideas as to what could be improved to help make SEO, Design and Usability more efficient?

    Thank you for your time.

In my signature is a link to a list of common coding errors. Try running through that and coming back.
