To answer your question about why people use such terrible products, I would say the vast majority of the people out there who are still using IE6 are doing so out of sheer ignorance. Don't get the term confused now, I'm not calling them stupid. They are just "uninformed".

I know my mother was even still using IE6 EVEN AFTER hearing me complain about it constantly! Why? She didn't have a clue as to what I was talking about number one... and number two, she didn't know that upgrading was free.

Most people who own computers are merely "point and click" and "plug and play" people. They have no idea what goes on behind the scenes, nor do they care as long as "it works".

That's the whole concept behind the death march... If you don't code a site to be compatible with IE6 and below... then from the veiwer's standpoint... It doesn't "work".

I have actually taken my site one step further to give the user no excuse to say "i didn't know". You should try viewing my site in IE 6
