    Default Cross-browser scrolling problem with gAjax RSS Pausing Scroller

    1) Script Title: gAjax RSS Pausing Scroller

    2) Script URL (on DD): http://www.dynamicdrive.com/dynamici...sescroller.htm

    3) Describe problem: "RSS not positioned well vertically especially in firefox."

    In IE the RSS scrolls up as intended but in firefox it scrolls way up the border that gives me problem in aligning it vertically.

    What particular line of the script code or CSS code to modify to make it behave as intended?

    Site links are here:

    Any help will be greatly appreciated! TIA

    In Firefox 3.0, from what I can tell, the output looks identical to in IE. Or are you talking about FF 2?

    Hi ddadmin,

    Thanks for the response, I'm viewing this in IE7 and FF3 also tried on lower version and the problem are the same.

    I actually adjusted the layout so the problem is not that noticeable. Below is the detailed comparison of the outputs in IE and FF.

    Hmmm strange, for me, in FF3 and IE7, the top alignment is identical, unlike in your screenshot. Anyhow, try moving the CSS margin definition from the inner P element to the main DIV container of the scroller itself:

    Code:
    #RSS_Feed{ /*main container*/
    	width: 260px;
    	height: 90px;
    	font-family: Myriad Pro, Myriad Pro Cond, Myriad Pro Light;
    	border: 1px;
    	text-align: left;
    	font-size: 12px;
    	color: #FFFFFF;
            margin-top: 7px;
    	/*padding-top: 8px;*/
    }

    #RSS_div p{ /*Demo 3 P element that separates each entry*/
    margin-top: 7px;
    margin-bottom: 7px;
    }
