    Default Register / Login

I need a register and login 'script' or program similar to what I used to join Dynamic Forums or Pimp-my-profile.com .
Something simple and hopefully easy to setup. My hosting company supports Linux, PHP and MySQL (unlimited databases), PERL/CGI, Personal CGI-BIN, Python, Private .htaccess, CRON Access, file handlers and MIME types. Of course I know absolutely nothing about PHP or MySQL but I am willing to learn. About the only thing I do know is some html.

    Thanx for any help.

if you do not know much about programming besides html, my suggestion would be to find a system that does what you want and just modify it from there... than learn about how to modify and create from there...

This system is built off the vBulletin service, however it is not free. It requires an annual license

Agree with boogyman on this one. But for those that are curious, here is a good list of tutorials on user authentication.

That (in my opinion) is the best way to go. A lot of people use the PHP/MySql duo.

Thanx for the responses, I checked the vbulletin out. A little to expensive. I would like to d/l some code and modify it, that's how I did learn what I know about html.
I followed the link to the tutorials and will give that a go too.
I viewed the code from pimp-my-profile, that's how I found out about dynamicdrive.com.
