    Default Looking for a moving wave

    I'm looking for a moving ocean wave for a flash intro - i have an awesome one as a .mov but my flash wont read it if i try to open it in there.

    Does anyone have any advice or can anyone point me to where i could find something similar made in flash all ready?

    thanks!!

    you could convert the .mov to and .flv and then import it.

    Yeah, that would be the way of going about it.

    I use istockphoto or any other site to grab stock footage, and import the video.

    you could just import it and use it as an mc

    or for even more fun you can put it in the timeline and use some simple scripting to move the timeline forward -back and stop it.

    that same site also has simple swfs in some cases.

    Thanks for the responses! How would i go about converting it to a .fla? Do i need some sort of 3rd party software?

    Thanks so much!

    Yeah, Flash doesn't natively support the .mov format. I haven't ever had to do this so I can't make any recommendations. Google should be able to help though.

    there are free utils that convert to .flv -but much of the time when you import movie files into flash -as I found out recently -in the steps you follow to import there are some choices

    import it to library
    import to the timeline
    import as streaming media

    flash will actually duplicate the movie file import the flv version and then give you a choice of buttons -or "skins" that you can apply to the built in pluggin
    that will play the flv inside your fla which will be published as your swf.

    see this link

    something like this will be your result -we used istockphoto to get the vids used in that file. -Hope this also helps
