    Default DVD to flv

I have a short 3 minute dvd authored video that needs to go on the intro page of a web site. I have been trying to play with this for some time and was wondering if anyone knew of a good way to do this or any tutorials online.

I basically want to rip the video at all the same specs it was authored at to lose as little quality as possible, then encode it as a flv to place on the page.

Software I am using is Xilisoft DVD Ripper Platinum and Flash Video Encoder CS3.

If anyone could help me or steer me in the right direction it would help a bunch.

I know a tool called moyea DVD to Flash Converter. It can convert DVD into Flash and FLV. Hope to help you.

You can download it by google Moyea DVD to flash Converter. I have seen the price is not very high.

    Good luck.

I believe that vlc can do the encoding to avi, and from there you can use the CS3 video encoder to get the flv. I'm not a hundred precent on this because I haven't done it, but I did find a lot of post saying that vlc can do that. It's open source so why not give it a try.

Here's a walk through(about halfway down the page)

    Nate,

I would RIP the DVD to your hard drive using your Xilisoft software as an AVI file using either the DivX or Xvid codec to preserve quality. Once you've done that, you can use Flash Encoder to create your FLV file.

If you don't have DivX Pro you can download the free Xvid codec from www.xvid.org, it's an MPEG4 encoder.

There's also Handbrake which is free. It can rip a dvd into different formats including MP4 and AVI.
