    Post Background-images and Download Time

    Hi There,
I was just wondering if anyone could help me, I have a full sized background-image and obviously being big dimensions it is a big filesize.

I was wondering though if an image, for example, is 800 width x 1 height does it download quicker for the user since it uses background-repeat?

Thanks in advance for any help

It probably, and most likely would download faster. Give it a try.

if the image is the same pattern then i would definitely suggest doing such, however if it is simply a solid color, I would suggest that you use a background color instead...

and its not likely that it would download faster, its a guarentee.. because after its downloaded the first time, it would get cached and just used when repeating it over and over...
    800x800 image or

    800x100 image

in theory the second should take about 8 times less to download if the resolution and optimizations n such were exactly the same...
