    Default Online Store Startup Help

    Hi,

I need to make an online store for a restaurant. They want the money/purchases to go through their POS system or somehow just flow into the restaurant's account.

What are some good solutions for this?

I have HTML and CSS knowledge.

I know about OSCommerce but I don't know PHP well enough to set this up. Right now my best choice seems to go with something like this site: http://www.merchboss.com/ and have the restaurant pay a monthly fee to have their items hosted in a store that looks similar to the restaurant's website.

    Any advice/Help is gladly appreciated.

    Thank You.

I too ran into this issue... I was going to use PHP to either email the orders to the client, or fax them... However, I later realized that there are already systems set up to do exactly this. It all depends on what POS system they are using. My client is using Prism, and they already have a system set up that I can integrate into the website. Even if your client does not use a POS that has an online ordering capability, you can use other services which will work. Below are a few examples.

Thank you for the suggestions... all those sites are tailored more towards ordering food online which is actually the next project, so thank you!.

What I need this time around is information on opening up a regular online store to sell merchandise from the restaurant (T-shirts, Cups, books, etc.). They still want to have the orders go through the POS system (First Data is the system they use) or some other way to go directly into the restaurant's account.

A few companies offer their services through paypal, would that be a good option?

I recommend Magento. The template engine takes a little getting used to but it's by far the nicest e-commerce solution that I've used.
