Is this image effect out of date? Cannot find it on DD anymore but I have had good sucess with it, but now would like the images to load 100% of the cell they are in. Is this possible?

Slightly, there is an updated version 1.51:

That also is able to do fade transitions in Opera and Safari in addition to the version you have's ability to do them in IE and FF/Mozilla.

If you have just one slide show on the page, putting this in your stylesheet should do what I think you are asking about:
