Windows 1.01

I recently installed Windows 1.01 in a VMware machine (Workstation 6). I cannot use my mouse. This problem occurs in both VMware and Microsoft virtual machines. I have a USB mouse (a Microsoft Comfort Optical Mouse 3000). What should I select under 'pointing device' during Windows setup?

Really? How come you installed 1.01? lol

Well 1.01 may not have any usb support for mouse's... Not sure..

Windows 1.01 came on 5 5.25" 360 KB floppy diskettes: Setup/Build, Utilities, Fonts, Desktop Applications and Program Disk. There was support for a few kinds of pointing devices, CGA, Hercules and EGA cards, and about 19 printer models.

Interesting. What happens if you use an uptodate OS? Does VPC support your usb mouse? i know vmware has usb support, but does vpc nowadays have too? My version doesn't have that, but I don't have an usb mouse.

If I run Windows 3.1, it works just fine in VM or VPC.

The usb support in vm is direct!? Is it in vpc too or emulated? The emulated mouse in mine vpc is a generic microsoft ps/2 mouse.
