scrolling div

i wanted to add a div that scrolls when you mouseover an image. i ran across this thread http://www.dynamicdrive.com/forums/s...ight=scrolling and tried implementing it into my site. i know nothing about javascript, so heres my question.

how do you control the dimensions of the div, and are there any other variable that i should be aware of.
