Preload Image (with progress bar) Script II problems

3) Describe problem:

Everything works as it should when the page loads. Then if you click on a link that opens a new window on the website the loading images pops up again on the page that it has already loaded in the first place (my home page). To get rid of the graphic I have to refresh the home page so it will function correctly. As well when you close the new tab and are reverted back to the tab that you were browsing (the home page) it does it again. Is there any portion of the progressbar.js file that I could edit to eliminate this problem?

I am using Firefox 3.0..

I have to disable the tiny code snippet in the < head > section because I can not have users constantly experiencing it.. However the code remains in the source code of the home page.
