HELP: users changing the banner

First of all I want say hi to everyone, im a newbie here and also in coding but i want to try at least

so here is my question:
im currently upgrading my site and i want a feature where users/guests can change the banner color as they like (i have several images of the banner with different colors). All i want is when a user clicks on a color (images) the banner changes to an other image (of the same color)

if there is anyone out there who likes to help me i would be very happy ..
also i want to save them to cookies so when the same users visit again it remains as they like it.

PS. as i said i don't know to much coding so don't expect me to understand immediately.
