    Default Conveyor belt slide show

    1) Script Title: Conveyor belt slide show

    2) Script URL (on DD): http://www.dynamicdrive.com/dynamici...rightslide.htm

    3) Describe problem: How to modify this javascript to make it compatible with ebay requirement of followings:

HTML or JavaScript used to drop or read a cookie on any eBay page

HTML or JavaScript that redirects the user from eBay to another page (such as the "replace" script)

HTML or JavaScript that automatically calls remote scripts and pages (such as JavaScript includes or iframes)

HTML or JavaScript that changes registry entries, or otherwise writes to another's computer hard drive

HTML or JavaScript that creates automatic "pop-ups" (exception - links that open in a new window when clicked on)

HTML or JavaScript that automatically posts to scripts in eBay

HTML or JavaScript that automatically loads any binary program on another's computer (exception - Flash content)

HTML or JavaScript that automatically overwrites any area on the listing outside of the item description area

I am assuming that is a list of the 'no-nos'. Conveyor does none of these things except possibly the last one:

HTML or JavaScript that automatically overwrites any area on the listing outside of the item description area
As long as you place it in 'the item description area', and configure its dimensions to fit within that area, it will be fine as far as that goes too.

However, depending upon how these rules are enforced - say, if ebay uses some kind of scripts that prevent certain things, there could still be a problem, even though Conveyor doesn't do any of the things on that list, as the ebay scripts may be too broad in their reach, and/or may conflict with Conveyor.

Please post a link to the page on your site that contains the problematic code so we can check it out.

I try submit this script again to ebay and I get the following error message:

Description - Your listing cannot contain javascript (".cookie", "cookie(", "replace(", IFRAME, META, or includes), cookies or base href.

This is either a case of no javascript being allowed at all, or of some mistake on ebay's part. The forbidden items aren't present, the words for them aren't even present. However, this part of the description seems pretty clear to me:

Description - Your listing cannot contain javascript

I have another 2 javascript inserted into my listing page. And they work properly without any error message.
In fact, there is another slide show javascript especiallly for ebay listing
( http://www.barelyfitz.com/projects/slideshow/auction/ ). But it just can't compared with conveyor belt slide.

Well, unless you've added one of the forbidden items to the code for this script, or you are misunderstanding what is allowed by ebay on that particular page, the fault lies with ebay. You will have to take up the matter with them.
