using scripts on forums

I am pretty new to forums and I would like to know what scripts if any can be used on forums and if so how would one go about adding them

what kind of scripts and are you talking about a forum software that you will install on your server? If you are talking about installing it on your own forum software, depending on the type of software there should be a template that you could edit in order to add the scripts according to the instructions.

I have a proboards forum and I would like to know if for one example the watermark background script is it possible to add it to the headers in the forum rather than the body of a web page ?
