DHTML - Close and Open Windows - Help

I saw this really cool dhtml demo -

Sugar CRM DEMO - login and drag the divs, close the divs

I am planning to have something like that for a website - drag and drop divs (show semi transparent divs when moving), open and close divs, etc. I have no clue on how to do it - can someone please point me to a website or a tutorial which explains on how to do that stuff?
