If the images are inside the description portion of the feed as regular <img> tags, they should be shown, yes. Note that what is returned is controlled by the Google Feed Class the script uses- this script merely shows that information.

I have the same problem, I can't get the feed to show images.

I'm not sure if it's my feed thats at fault of if gfeedfetcher.js?
But i'l like it to show images from a feed.

I think the problem is with gfeedfetcher.js, it's actually a prototype.
But i'll be damned if I can find an update for it.
