    Lightbulb RSSDisplayBox - Simple Admin Page?

    1) Script Title: RSS Display Box

    2) Script URL (on DD): http://www.dynamicdrive.com/dynamici...rssdisplaybox/

    3) Describe problem: Is there a way to make a simple admin page for RSSDisplayBox?

    I am setting up multiple webites (CMS), each will be handed off to another person to run. I am helping them do the technical setups and teaching them the basics of running the sites through the web based interface. There is already an admin area that only site admins can get to. I just need a simple form to let them add/change RSS feeds easily with the ability to add up to 10 different feeds.

    I am thinking an easy way to do this would be to have a simple form that writes to a config file which holds the variables which then are fed into RSSDisplayBox - but I don't know how to make this happen.

    I am sure this would be a super helpful thing to do - which would basically give people the ability to make this script a plug-in for many CMS style websites.

    Default The first step?

    Here is the section in the script that holds the RSS feeds:

    code:
    //Specify list of RSS URLs
    $rsslist=array(
    "cssdrive" => "http://www.cssdrive.com/index.php/news/rss_2.0/",
    "bbc" => "http://newsrss.bbc.co.uk/rss/newsonline_uk_edition/front_page/rss.xml",
    "nytimes" => "http://www.nytimes.com/services/xml/rss/nyt/HomePage.xml",
    "dynamicdrive" => "http://www.dynamicdrive.com/export.php?type=new" //no trailing comma after last RSS
    URL!!
    );

    I am thinking that we can change it to be like this:

    code:
    //Specify list of RSS URLs
    $rsslist=array(
    "$rss1" => "$rssurl1",
    "$rss2" => "$rssurl2",
    "$rss3" => "$rssurl3",
    "$rss4" => "$rssurl4" //no trailing comma after last RSS URL!!
    );

    And make a simple form to put $rss# and $rssurl# into rss.cfg so the script can read them in, but the user
    doesn't have to find/edit/break code when changing or adding RSS feeds.

    But I don't know how to do that.
