Layout problems Ajaxabs Script in IE8 Beta

3) Describe problem: Now that the IE8 Beta is available i thought I would see some of my sites in this browser. Ajax Tabs has layout problems. I am using the Demo #3 configureation on one of my sites, http://www.localgov.gov.tt/Ministry/The_Minister.htm

The tabs do not line up as before. Is this CSS? Is this a bug in the script? Help.

I just discovered that the DOCTYPE has an effect on the layout. Once I deleted the part that starts, "http://www.w3.org/...", all seems to line up ok. Any further suggestions?
