Tabbed Document Viewer - Persistent?

Before I go try to reinvent the wheel...Just wondering if anyone has tried to make the Tabbed Document Viewer (http://www.dynamicdrive.com/dynamici...bdocviewer.htm) persistent and would like to share the code?

Just discovered this item opens a new world of possibilities for a flash page I'm building & I'd like to have other navigable content on the pages:

Question: what do you mean by persistent????

For my application I'm not sure I'd want to lose the space by using this type of tabbed viewer, a right hand column might be better.

Does anyone know of a way to have the flash document links show up on this same page but in the space defined for the external resources????
I'm very much perplexed by the puzzle. The map will have a link to additional info brief but defined (on the same page as the map if possible)

Any help appreciated... What was persistent meaning again (for kingtone)?
