DD/Tools/ Favicon

Hi there,
I have always got my favicons made with DD but I have tried so many times today I am becoming frustrated.

Making the favicon of course is no problem, what is a problem is opening the image. I download it open it and am told that 'Paint' cannot open the image - now why Paint and how can I 'open with' some other program like Irfanview?
