    Question Featured Content Slider v2.0 - slider height fixed ?

    1) Script Title: Featured Content Slider v2.0

    2) Script URL (on DD): http://www.dynamicdrive.com/dynamici...tentslider.htm

    3) Describe problem:

    My content box (fed by external content source) gets a fixed hight as big as it would be with the longest text in my contentdiv sections. It doesn't adapt to the real amount of content.

    That means: if content1 filles half of my box and content2 filles 3 pages, I see a scroll bar even when content1 is shown.
    Furthermore, if I show content2, and then switch to content1, I see the original half page of content1 (which is fine), but scrolling down reveals the bottom part of content2.

    In any case: thanks a lot for the script.

    By default content that exceeds the height of the Featured Content Slider box should be clipped. This is due to the following setting in red inside contentslider.css:

    Code:
    .sliderwrapper{
    position: relative; /*leave as is*/
    overflow: hidden; /*leave as is*/
    border: 10px solid navy;
    border-bottom-width: 6px;
    width: 400px; /*width of featured content slider*/
    height: 250px;
    }
    Now, if you've modified the above, then the result will start to vary. Now, based on the default CSS, if you wish longer content to be scrollable, you can add the code in red to this default CSS portion:

    Code:
    .sliderwrapper .contentdiv{
    visibility: hidden; /*leave as is*/
    position: absolute; /*leave as is*/
    left: 0;  /*leave as is*/
    top: 0;  /*leave as is*/
    padding: 5px;
    background: white;
    width: 390px; /*width of content DIVs within slider. Total width should equal slider's inner width (390+5+5=400) */
    height: 100%;
    overflow: scroll;
    overscroll-x: hidden;
    filter:progid:DXImageTransform.Microsoft.alpha(opacity=100);
    -moz-opacity: 1;
    opacity: 1;
    }

    is there anything I can do to make the div actually expand and push the content below it? I got it to do as much as this

    http://www.longislandonline.com/dev/

    you have to click in the 'check username' and 'password' field to know what I mean. As you can see I can get the div to expand but in a more 'absolute' nature. It just covers the content below it. Anyway to get to to expand in a more real way which would push the content below it down?

    Thank you now for your time. I've been receiving a lot of great help here.

    also, take note how the background in the hidden div starts off white and fades into the background color. Anyway to change that? I can't seem to do anything to get that to start off the right background color in IE.. of course, as usual, FF works fine

    Don't forget to read the message above this also.. sorry I double stacked.

    sorry, third post in a row now.. please see the 2 above...

    the REALLY strange thing is.. even after I turn enable fade to FALSE .. the same behavior happens with the hidden divs when you click in the field "username" and "password". When I set to enablefade FALSE the navigation between divs has no fade.. but those hidden divs continue to FADE in... is this strange? Any idea?

    Have you checked out v2.3 of the script (updated a few days ago)? It basically changes the behavior of the script so inactive slides are actually contracted, not just hidden, beneath the active slide. This should take care of your issue for good.

    I'm using 2.3 - that's what you're looking at in the sample that I supplied

    On the page cited above, it's using the old version of FCS actually (v1.x), not v2.3: http://www.longislandonline.com/dev/...ntentslider.js
