"Myspace" like website??

I am looking at making something like a "myspace" website.

Does any one know if this is even possible or what do I need to be able to do this?

It's certainly possible. But it's not an easy endeavor, nor a cheap one. I suggest you do some googling into Social Networking and all that it entails.

A site like MySpace is by no means a one-man task nor a task for an inexperienced programmer.

It's possible. You can purchase ready-made software for creating social networking site, for example, PG Social Networking software. but you will have to customize it or order custom work to be done, whichever script you choose since all of them do not include the option you require..
