    Default Forms

    Hi,

I have built a form and that is as far as I have got!

In the past I have always used a different host for forms but now I have hosting with the ability for me to use my own forms

    however

I know how to build the form structure but I dont know how to send the thing to me, I have picked up bits but not enough.

Can anyone help me or send me in the direction af a good tutorial (I have yet to find an adequate one!)

    Thanks

    Donna

You can use forms with any host. Do you mean form processing - analysing input and getting some kind of result from it (e-mail, database update, etc)?

If you just mean e-mailing the user input to you, then you're looking for a generic form processor. The CGI Resource Index maintains a large list of existing form processing packages, including some that are remotely hosted.

Though I do love to reinvent the wheel, secure systems like this can be something of a minefield. There are some notorious scripts that allow spammers to hijack scripts for unlimited abuse of other people's SMTP servers, and I'd hate to be someone that accidentally reproduced another.

    Hi Mike

    Thanks
Yes I do mean form processing, I think I am looking for a pearl script so I can run it through my cgi-bin. I have used remotly hosted in the past but now I am trying to stretch my brain ahem

I'll have a look though those links you provided, Thanks
