For an animation program . . .
Try Jasc's Animation Shop: cheap and adequate.
The transistion applications are very straight-forward.
You can order it on Jasc's website and download it immediately. At least, you used to be able to do so.
If you can't do it there, try Amazon.com for the disc.
May be some freeware/shareware on www.tucows.com that will do the trick. . . . don't know.
But, you will need to - as stated earlier - convert the graphic from the .png format to the .gif format. ( I believe you can do this inside Animation Shop, as well. ) 'Cause today...in the here and now... .pngs can't be animated.
As for what happens in black holes...
...well...no one has ever been through one...so, no one can say for sure.
It's all speculation...like so many other things apart from Animation Shop.

maybe as a .gif file? I know that fireworks creates animated .gif. If its for a preloader have you tried http://www.ajaxload.info? I know that its create preloaders in png, but just a suggestion.
Also, Adobe Imageready could probably output it as a .gif But I think you would have to recreate it for either alternative to get it as a .gif
hope that helped
