Facebox background fade. Is it possible?

It's not a problem as such. I was just wondering if there was a way to implement a fading out of the background content while using facebox, similar to the light box/thick box way of doing things. I really like the flexibility of facebox, but I want to partially lose the widow behind it when the facebox content is displayed.

If anyone can let me know a (layman's) solution to this, I'd be very grateful.
