3) Describe problem: Not really a problem, just another quick question. Quite understandably, we are asked to have an acknowledgment to DD when we use a script on a web page (and I'm more than happy to do so). Would there be any objection to having the DD site open in a new window, when a viewer clicks the link (I think by adding target = _blank to the script)?

These:

are the only terms of use. They do not require any link on your page, primarily (though there are other terms) just a credit in your source code for every page that uses a given script. If you do have a link to DD, and Dynamic Drive does appreciate and encourage that, it can open anywhere you like.

Many thanks. As I said, I'm very happy to acknowledge DD, so I'll edit the script just to have their web site open in a new window.
