redirecting based on location on earth

does anyone know where i can find some information - i want a website that when a user opens the site from a particular place on earth, they will be redirected to the appropriate page. ex. someone in japan visits mysite.com, the site somehow reads the users ip or somthing and then redirects them to the mysite.com/japan page.....

Try doing a search on Google for ip country detect or geo ip. There are quite a few paid (a few free as well) databased you can purchase that map IPs to geography for you to use within your scripts.

We've also had a few discussions over time in the PHP section on this topic. This isn't something that can really be done with Javascript though.
