Drop down content with select box help

3) I am having an issue with content when it has a drop down list, I am using it for a drop down search form and the form has an input text box and a select box with about 6 items, when I go to select an item from within the select box the drop down box disappears and a box (with nothing in it) to the left appears briefly. Is there a way to fix this?

Yeh sorry don't have it live yet - I will try and get an example page up as soon as I Get a chance.

Here we go - it is just an example page but it demonstrates what I mean.

Search will not work it is only for testing - and this has been tested in FF2 and IE6, 7.

You will note if you select the items in the drop down box it will cause the box to disappear

Oh and the other thing I noted is that in IE it drops DIVS below it down a fair bit when I bring the box up - is there a fix for that?
