Chrome menus prepending full path name

I have the menus installed and am having problems with URL of the menu items is being changed to reflect the current directory. If I'm at, for instance, the parent level I get correct URLs in for each menu item. If I select a page inside a directory then the directory is prepended onto the URL and all the menus reflect the current child directory. This is a problem since I want my menus items to be static and can't go back to the parent directory from the child.

Example menu items:

Parent directory level:
http://localhost/cws/dx/diagnosis.php

Child directory level:
http://localhost/cws/dx/maintenance/diagnosis.php

From this example you see that the same menu in the parent directory changes to reflect the child directory when the page has loaded. This menu must remain the same and not reflect the current directory at any point.

How do I make the menus not add the current directories to the URLs?

Why not just set the URLs within the Chrome menu to be absolute URLs?
