    first off, ill link you to what im talking about:

    k, i added the php lines for login... but can i use regular html to add to the page?
    and how can i make the php part smaller?

    Depending on where you want to add the HTML depends which template file you need to modify.

    For example, to put HTML in the footer, you'd edit page_footer.tpl or page_tail.tpl in the /templates folder.

    Unless your forum is hosted for free, you should be able to do that. Free forum hosting doesn't have FTP access AFAIK.

    no, im hosting my own forum. but i want to put the page header in another page.
