What exactly are you trying to mimic with that footer?

Here's a nice tutorial on rounded corners: http://kalsey.com/2003/07/rounded_corners_in_css/

Just create a div using that tuorial and leave out the bottom rounded corners. Then make the size of the div a little smaller than its container.

If you can't get it to work, post the code that you're using and someone will be able to help better.
