Can you do me a favor and make an attempt to discover an alternative?

There is no alternative to a script tag for any complex Javascript.

You can use <script ... src="file.js">, or <script ...> code.here </script>, but both require the tag.

If you're trying to get around that being blocked on myspace, etc., you can't.

You can include very limited javascript in onClick, onMouseover, etc events in tags, but that's far too limited for a while menu.
