    Default Featured Content Slider

    Hello,

I'm using the Featured Content Slider script and for some reason I'm having an issue with 2 things on it, first off I can't get the transition to work ( I downloaded the 'Aug 1st- 07' one which I found on the forum) and 2nd of all I can't get French text to show up correctly, it always has a question mark or some other misc character where the accents are suppose to be, if someone could help me out on what I'm doing wrong, that would be great.

    Thanks in advance.

You should be using the officially updated script that includes the fading effect: http://www.dynamicdrive.com/dynamici...tentslider.htm Did you do that, instead of using the modified code pasted on the forums?

Regarding the French text not showing up correctly, are you using the Ajax option of the script to dynamically fetch the contents to display?

I tried using the one on the page that you stated however I couldn't get the script to read from another HTML file so I used the one that was posted (the .zip file) on this thread :

as far as the French text goes, I believe I am using the Ajax option, I am still pretty new at this so my apologies, should I post the code that I have up? and if so, which files would you like me to post ?

Language encoding on an external page often isn't honored when the page is fetched via Ajax. To be honest I have yet to really look into a solution to this, but if you're up to it, here's a good article on language encoding and Ajax.

Another alternative obviously is just to use the default inline DIV method of embedding your contents.
