drag and drop (word inside a text)

i've written a drag and drop application but i need to use it dragging a highlighted or marked word from a text. Till now i have a function that can give me the highlighted word, but in order to move it i have to make its position absolute or something else ? my question is what should i do in order to make it draggable. does anybody have some idea or links, or anything that can be useable.
