Default Accessibility vs. Top Navigational Bar III v3.5 BrotherCake

    1) Script Title: Top Navigational Bar III v3.5 (By BrotherCake- brothercake.com)

    2) Script URL (on DD): http://www.dynamicdrive.com/dynamici...men3/index.htm

    3) Describe problem:

For a website (see: http://www.de-stap-tc.nl/) I have used the a.m. script.

Because I'd like to build accessible websites (see: http://accessibility.nl/?languageId=2) I have checked the website for Web Guidelines for the dutch government. See http://webrichtlijnen.overheid.nl/en.../status/23444/ for the score being 73%, which is not too bad to start with. If you go to results you can find a full report.

In fact I ran into two big problems:

    1) The report indicates I would have to use a strict DOCTYPE.

If I do that (you can find the test site on http://www.arti-mo.com/destap/), and I check the site for Markup Validation at W3C (see: http://validator.w3.org/) I suddenly run into a problem of "language attribute" in the javascript. I have tried to discover what was wrong, but can't find the error.

What is wrong here and how can I solve it?

    2) The report indicates that: "When using client-side script in combination with a link: if the link does not lead to anything, do not confront the visitor without support for client-side script with a non-working link."

I understand that the a.m. script will not work when for example tools or equipment are being used that will switch off any javascripts in a site, for example when the site is being read by a Daisy reader or so. This means that the menu will not work as a result of which one can not go the the other menu pages.

    How can I solve this?

Thanks for any help in this!

    Have a nice day,
    Monique
