Making a sorta of glass earth image...

djr33, kind of cool but it's only half translucent -- there's a big white line down the middle from behind which the continents come out when it's revolving

Twey, yeah, I noticed that too. It was a huge resolution project, and there were a ton of effects. Rendering was about 10 seconds per frame. Perhaps I'll render it out again fixed.

As for putting the text to the side, that wouldn't be difficult. In fact, it was hard putting it on top

The full resolution image is blurry--
1. Your text was small, so it got blurry when enlarged.
2. I did a lot of effects to give it such a glow. Some of that made it softer (though I don't really mind the look, even large).

Anyway, as long as you've got something you want. I found the idea interesting, so I played with it for a while. Kinda fun.
