Can you control a fading slideshow?

I have a fading sliedshow going on, but i wanted to know is if it is possible to also control which slide appears next i.e have the images appearing in order but if somebody wants to go back to the previous slide they click and they can do it (next slide or previous slide)? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

That looks really cool! I've been trying to adapt the DD Fade-in to have some of those features with mixed success. I've got the links thing down and can have it repeat or run through once. I have one version that displays an image map(s). Stop, Play, Forward and Back are proving to be a bit of a problem due to the cross browser fade engine. I'll probably get it figured out though.
