Favicon Generator

Hi, I am new at this, so please bear with me. I am trying to make a favicon for my website. I had no trouble creating the favicon, and I will be able to insert the HTML in the head section of my website. But I am not sure what this means--
"Upload the generated file ("favicon.ico") to your site. Verify it's there by typing http://mysite.com/favicon.ico in the browser's location, where "mysite.com" is your site's address."
How do I upload the generated file to my site ? And where do I type in --http://mysite.com/favicon.ico ? I was told to download Filezilla, but not sure how to use it. Hope someone can offer some advice. Thank you, Mickmac

Surely if your creating favicons you'll have no doubt created the rest of your site by now.

Have you uploaded any of your site yet? if so then just upload the favicon in the same way.

You put

http://mysite.com/favicon.ico

into your browser as though you would any url.
This isn't essential, it's purely for testing purposes

If i wanted to check this sites favicon I would enter
http://www.dynamicdrive.com/favicon.ico
in to the address bar. If you see the little icon then you know its worked.

Hi, Thanks for the reply. I did not build the website, and the guy who built it has gone back to the UK, so I am trying to learn how to do things on my own. Like creating a favicon. I live in the far north of Thailand, and it is hard to find someone here to do work on my website, which is why these forums are so valuable to me. Thanks again for your help. Mickmac
