Popup Window scripts not compatible with IE7?

Browser settings. Virtually all browsers that support tabbed browsing have a configuration option for that:

Is there anyway to work around having to change that setting? Members of the website I'm redesigning will not know how to do that, and most of them will be using IE7.

Everything I've written works just fine in Opera and FireFox, but IE7 keeps causing MAJOR headaches. This is just the latest problem causing me to go bald. Everything else is very minor, but this issue and a design issue that I can't figure out (having to do with a gap between the top image and the body of the page that doesn't show up in Opera or FireFox) are about to drive me insane!
