By way of further explanation, if you download the zip file, the demo.htm is a template for your HTML page.

Thanks John! But i unfortunatelly need more help! I did what you said and am in the process of updating the links! My question is.....There is only one line of code for the changing of the title of a Bar...here:

    Code:
bartext:'Main Menu', // bar text (the vertical cell) use text or img tag
That only applies to Menu2...how would i change the bar text of menus one and three.......or rather the left and right menus?

    Thanks!

As for the question about the bartext: property - The properties of any given menu need not be set in the menuItems.js file unless you wish them to be different than the defaults. Any property may be included and defined for any menu as long as it doesn't specifically state in properties.htm that it is only for one type (left, top, or right) of menu and the menu you want to use it with doesn't qualify (there are very few of these).

I don't think I get your other question. I believe you can wrap lines in the usual manner, most places, by using a <br> tag and/or by letting them be constrained/fit by the dimensions that you set for the menu. Other than that, I'm not sure what you mean.

OK.....wait.....are you saying that I will NOT be able to change the side and right menus?? If that is the case then....ok...i guess this particular script is not for me....

    AND Second.....

I don't really understand what you said...you did not understand what i said, and i did not understand what you said....what is happening is that the text meant to be in the side menu....is quite long....and as such it is overflowing, but the menu does not stretch to support it, hence because of my dark background, I can't see the text. The text gets retracted with the menu, but what i am essentially trying to say is that the menu background is not stretching to cover the contents of the hyperlink....which is quite long. Oh and by the way, the top menu works fine.

If there is nothing that I can do about any of this...........then the original menu that I had in mind was the easy script of the one side menu, with the ssm.js and the ssmItems.js My question on that one is, is there a way to move that menu from the left to the right of the web.....

    Thanks John!

This means that if there is a property for a given menu (there are three menus on the demo page) that you would like to be different than the default value, you may set it for that menu to change it.

To add a custom bartext to menu 1 for example (from menuItems.js, addition red):

    Code:
    menu[1] = {
id:'menu1', //use unique quoted id (quoted) REQUIRED!!
fontsize:'100%', // express as percentage with the % sign
    linkheight:22 , // linked horizontal cells height
hdingwidth:210 , // heading - non linked horizontal cells width
bartext:'Whatever', // bar text (the vertical cell) use text or img tag
// Finished configuration. Use default values for all other settings for this particular menu (menu[1]) ///

    menuItems:[ // REQUIRED!!
//[name, link, target, colspan, endrow?] - leave 'link' and 'target' blank to make a header
    ["Menu"], //create header
    ["Dynamic Drive", "http://www.dynamicdrive.com", ""],
    ["What's New", "http://www.dynamicdrive.com/new.htm",""],
    ["What's Hot", "http://www.dynamicdrive.com/hot.htm", ""],
    ["Message Forum", "http://www.dynamicdrive.com/forums", ""],
    ["Submit Script", "http://www.dynamicdrive.com/submitscript.htm", ""],
    ["Link to Us", "http://www.dynamicdrive.com/link.htm", ""],

["FAQ", "http://www.dynamicdrive.com/faqs.htm", "", 1, "no"], //create two column row, requires d_colspan:2 (the default)
    ["Email", "http://www.dynamicdrive.com/contact.htm", "",1],

    ["External Links", "", ""], //create header
    ["JavaScript Kit", "http://www.javascriptkit.com", "_new"],
    ["Freewarejava", "http://www.freewarejava.com", "_new"],
["Coding Forums", "http://www.codingforums.com", "_new"] //no comma after last entry

]}; // REQUIRED!! do not edit or remove
Menus 2 & 3 already have that property defined in menuItems.js
