    Default Photos not showing in Ultimate Fade-in Slideshow

    1) Script Title: Ultimate Fade-in slideshow (v1.51)

    2) Script URL (on DD): http://www.dynamicdrive.com/dynamici...nslideshow.htm

    3) Describe problem: Photos not showing in slide show.

    I am new to this site and thus to these forums but at first glance I really like the layout, set up and tremendous resource presented. I am particularly impressed with your Ultimate Fade-in Slideshow. I appreciate the easy to understand instructions and directions for uploading the code to my client’s web page. Unfortunately I have run into a snag that I am 100% certain is my fault - the photo slideshow (I have only one right now) does not show.

    Here is the link to the web page that I have coded with the Slide show: http://www.ors-llc.com/px.html. Does anyone have a moment to look over the source code and tell me what I have done wrong?

    Thank you in advance.

    Best Regards,

    You have several problems. In no particular order:

    There are no:

    Code:
    Globalstylesimages/header/hdslideshow/slideshow1/Photof01.jpg
    Globalstylesimages/header/hdslideshow/slideshow1/Photof02.jpg
    Globalstylesimages/header/hdslideshow/slideshow1/Photof03.jpg
    on the server in the location indicated.

    You are only trying to use the one show for now. So, you should get rid of (in the head):

    Code:
    var fadeimages2=new Array() //2nd array set example. Remove or add more sets as needed.
    //SET IMAGE PATHS. Extend or contract array as needed
    fadeimages2[0]=["photo1.jpg", "", ""] //plain image syntax
    fadeimages2[1]=["photo2.jpg", "http://www.cssdrive.com", ""] //image with link syntax
    fadeimages2[2]=["photo3.jpg", "http://www.javascriptkit.com", "_new"] //image with link and target syntax
    and (in the body):

    Code:
    new fadeshow(fadeimages2, 140, 225, 0, 3000, 0)

    The syntax of the array you are trying to use is off because you have left out some important commas (from your source code, missing commas added in red):

    Code:
    var fadeimages=new Array()
    //SET IMAGE PATHS. Extend or contract array as needed
    fadeimages[0]=["Globalstylesimages/header/hdslideshow/slideshow1/Photof01.jpg", "", ""] //plain image syntax
    fadeimages[1]=["Globalstylesimages/header/hdslideshow/slideshow1/Photof02.jpg", "",""] //image with link syntax
    fadeimages[2]=["Globalstylesimages/header/hdslideshow/slideshow1/Photof03.jpg", "",""] //image with link and target syntax
    There could also be other problems.

    Thank you , John, for the very well illustrated answers to my question. As far as not finding the photos on the server in the location indicated I would answer: "It could help if I remembered to put them there!" dah

    I erased the superfluous stuff... I was a little wary of erasing anything lest I goof something else up - at least until I understood it more about the coding. Thank you for pointing me in the right direction. And yes, the commas made all the difference in the world. Thank you! It's now up and working.

    One other "problem." I see (now that it is working) that the images are "cropped" that I am displaying. I am working to make a slideshow whose dimensions are 750px x 125px. Are there settings that I can adjust accordingly so that the whole picture is displayed?

    Again, here is the link to show the effects that I am referring to.http://www.ors-llc.com/px.html. The full height of the photo is visible but the full width is not.

    Thank you in advance.

    Best Regards,

    In this line in the body:

    Code:
    new fadeshow(fadeimages, 140, 225, 0, 3000, 1, "R")
    The 140 is the width and the 225 is the height, as noted in the line above it (which is a comment/instructions and has no effect on the script):

    Code:
    //new fadeshow(IMAGES_ARRAY_NAME, slideshow_width, slideshow_height, borderwidth, delay, pause (0=no, 1=yes), optionalRandomOrder)
