If the link is on subpage.html, it will load in the iframe. If it is on the top page, the iframe must be given a unique name attribute (if it doesn't have one already), ex:

    Code:
    <iframe name="bob" id="myframe" src="externalpage.htm" scrolling="no" marginwidth="0" marginheight="0" frameborder="0" vspace="0" hspace="0" style="overflow:visible; width:100&#37;; display:none"></iframe>
Now you can target it from the top page like so:

    Code:
    <a href="link1.html" target="bob">Link 1</a>
