Tutorial for designing my own Tab Menu Images?

Does anyone know of any tutorials or png files that I can use to create my own Tab Menu images? Like the ones used here -

I have Fireworks 8 and Paintshop Pro X

I'd go with fireworks for this one.

Just make the squares, change the corner roundness, add an inner glow, crop it the way you see the images in the Dynamic Drive example and export it.

The code has nothing to do with the graphics program (the code fireworks, and really any graphics program, produces is horrible) - write that yourself, using that DD example as sort of a guide.

Can i ask one more question, in Fireworks, how do I darken just one portion of an image? I have a right hand section of a "button" I am creating and want to darken the image to create a shadow. I dont want to use the shadow effect, just darken a certain area.
