    Default Website check please

    HI folks,

    i have developed a website for a guy i know who does charity work, what i would like if someione could check the footer for me, i am using Lightbox image gallery but when you hover the footer in Opera (havent checked other browsers yet) it links to one of the image and i dont see why in the code.

    Any help would be great.

    The site is http://www.davidstitt.net/2007.html

    Thanks in advance

    Terry

    hi tiffhannah,

    Thanks for checking, could you tell me what browser and OS you are using? I just checked it in IE6 and on XP home, it seems to work ok in that, it may just be an issue with Opera

    Cheers again

    Not that this answers your question but here's what I found with my browsers.

    IE7: Footer show a 30x1 gold line, when mousing over this it links to image gal4, moving to the right in a blank open area it links to index.html. Further right into more blank area in footer, it links again to image gal 4.

    Opera and Safari: Copyright © 2007 Davidstitt.net both appear in text in the footer. Mouseover Copyright links to image gal 4, davidstitt.net links to index.html, entire footer to the right of .net links to image gal 4.

    Firefox: Copyright © 2007 Davidstitt.net both appear in text in the footer. This time though Copyright is undelined on mouseover, but still links to gal4, .net links to index, and everything to the right has no link and appears correct.

    To me 2 out of 4 browsers show what looks like a border gone wild. The borders color is #664422 in IE7 and Safari. I think somehow you have a width 100% somewhere with a 1px border maybe? That seems to me what is dragging out the link.

    Dunno...hope this helps some though

    ok,

    so i have narrowed it down.

    It is the gallery div. I have taken the code out of the html for the meantime could you have a look i have included the htnl and css in this post

    HTML Code:
    <div class="gallery">
    				<h3>Latest Pictures</h3>
               				<div><a href="gallery/gal1.jpg" rel="lightbox[gal]" title="Davidstitt.net"><img src="gallery/thm_gal1.jpg" width="50" height="50" alt="david stitt" /></div>
               				<div><a href="gallery/gal2.jpg" rel="lightbox[gal]" title="Davidstitt.net"><img src="gallery/thm_gal2.jpg" width="50" height="50" alt="david stitt" /></div>
    	 				<div><a href="gallery/gal3.jpg" rel="lightbox[gal]" title="Davidstitt.net"><img src="gallery/thm_gal3.jpg" width="50" height="50" alt="david stitt" /></div>
    	 				<div><a href="gallery/gal4.jpg" rel="lightbox[gal]" title="Davidstitt.net"><img src="gallery/thm_gal4.jpg" width="50" height="50" alt="david stitt" /></div>

             </div>
    Code:
    /*Gallery*/
    .gallery {
      float: right;
      width: 40%;

    }
    .gallery div {
      float: left;
      margin-top: 0px;
      margin-right: 6px;
      margin-bottom: 6px;
      margin-left: 1px;
    }

    .gallery a {
    text-decoration: none;
    }
    many thanks

    Well that definitely fixed it... but you of course want the gallery. The only thing that looks odd to me is how all of the image links end... stitt" /></div> You could try ending them wish stitt"></a></div> and see what happens... To me it seems like the link is trying to continue and somehow ends up in the footer.

    i gave that a go, it does seem to change the problem, obviously it isn't a major issue, but i would like to know why it is happening, i might try to chane the css.

    if you have any other thoughts let me know, cheers
